Do you need to have a barrel threaded for a flash hider or a suppressor?
NFA Investments can thread the barrels 1/2-28, 9/16-32, 5/8-24, and other common / standard thread patterns for you. NFA Investments can also cut / shorten / re-crown barrels to NFA or pistol lengths and thread the barrels for suppressor use. If for NFA use, please provide a copy of your NFA paperwork for review.
Here are the fees charged for barrel threading. Whenever possible, please submit the barrels already stripped to avoid additional fees:
If you provide a stripped non-tapered “bull” barrel (removed from the upper receiver): $100.00; tapered barrels can be threaded but there may be an increase in cost due to the increased time involved.
If the barrel is attached to the upper receiver and requires dismounting and remounting, there is a $25.00 increase for the time to pull and reinstall the barrel. This amount does not include removal of “exotic” rail systems; these will be priced on a case-by-case basis.
If the length of the barrel is too short and requires a flash hider to be permanently attached, one can be permanently attached by several different methods. Please contact NFA Investments for a quote specific to your needs. NFA Investments no longer offers this as a regular service but can do so on a case by case basis.
Hours of operation are by appointment only and are generally 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Weekend appointments are occasionally available when extenuating circumstances are present on a case by case basis. Turnaround time is usually less than 48 hours and may be the same day in some cases. Appointments can normally only be scheduled a day or two in advance. NFA Investments will always try and work with you to get the work done as soon as possible.
AK47 Barrel Threading Service
Most post-ban type AK47 barrels can be threaded with the standard 14mm by 1mm left hand metric threads. These factory type threads are suitable for flash hiders or flash suppressors but are not recommended for silencer use.
